NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

CHUM (Cross Hole Ultrasonic Monitor)

non-destructive testing > crosshole testing on piles

The Tx Transmitter and Rx Receiver probes are moved along the entire length of the pile through special water-filled access tubes embedded in the pile during casting. Since the speed and energy of the ultrasonic wave are considerably influenced by the quality and thickness of the concrete, the profile obtained represents a detailed image of the pile itself. Single Hole Ultrasonic Testing (SHUT) and Tomography 2D/3D surveys can also be performed. The use of the CHUM is immediate and does not require any additional training; the instrumentation is easily connected to any Windows PC (minimum resolution 800x600).
